The CDS Difference
What Makes CDS Different?
A Leap Forward and a Commitment
to Excellence.
I recently overheard a conversation between two business
owners who were trading IT horror stories about late nights
in the office, excessive downtime, solutions that were off
target, headaches and sleepless nights. When problems did
occur, their providers were not reachable, and when the
problems were finally solved, they did not feel confident
that the problem would not re-occur again and again. They
were not content with their current IT providers but they
both concluded that it was the nature of IT providers in
general to be inflexible, reactive, and that IT providers
don’t really listen to what they want in the first
place. Sound familiar?
Managing your business should not have to be like this.
Technology should not be viewed as a necessary evil. IT
should not place limitations on your business or distract
vital resources (owners, managers, employees) from their
primary productive roles. Technology drives
the expansion of your business, paving the way for greater
productivity and superior presence in your marketplace.
The two businessmen did
recognize one important truth: Their time is TOO VALUABLE
to spend managing IT providers, especially since their IT
solutions don’t seem like solutions at all. If you
have read this far, you likely recognize this vital truth
as well.
In a world where controlling costs is more important than
ever, the inclination to do it all yourself when it comes
to IT infrastructure is more and more inviting. Sure, you
can buy your PC’s online. You can call your phone
company or cable company and be linked to the internet (eventually).
You can subscribe to an online email provider and get your
email on line. You can even get your neighbor’s kid
to set up your server for you if you feel lucky. Is this
the foundation you want to lay for your business? What happens
when something goes wrong? What happens when one component
does not work with another? How much downtime can your business
afford, and can your really afford to play “traffic
cop” when one provider points a finger at another
as the reason for the failures?
This was
the nature of running a business dependent on traditional
IT service providers. The two business men used to think
so. Here is a thought…
What if there was an IT service provider that acted as your
full service technology provider, your single point of accountability
for all of your IT related needs? Such a provider would
act as the one resource for all of your IT needs, from hardware
to software, from servers to your PC’s and the network
that connect them. Such a provider would make the best recommendations
for your business, because we understand your business.

Need a connection to the internet?
Need a website? Need a firewall? Sure. But you also need an
IT provider with the forethought to size one just right for
your business without taking you to the cleaners. You need
a technology company that provides 24x365 support. A provider
that is large enough to handle all of your needs but small
enough to offer the personal attention that your business
requires. One that does what it says what it is going to do
and gets it done when it says it is going to get it done.
What if the provider did the unthinkable and identified your
problems before
they became problems. What if they developed a customized
set of alerts for your environment that allowed them to monitor
the health
of your system proactively. A provider that knew if you forgot
to load your backup tape and knew if you were going to run
out of disk space. What if we knew if someone was trying to
hack into your system and stopped them before they could do
damage. What if they had a TOD (Tech on Duty) service that
was answered by a human 24 hours a day - not just an impersonal
answering machine that claimed to “get back to you.”
What if we proactively evaluated your systems, regularly tested
your points of access to the internet, and sent you regularly
scheduled reports with meaningful recommendations!
You would sleep a lot better at night, wouldn’t you?
There would be less downtime and you could finally focus on
running your business.
Sound too good to be true? Not to our clients.
CDS has been providing this level of excellence for over 25
years. We developed the “full service technology provider”
concept in response to an ever changing ever growing more
complex IT need. We recognize the need to change with changing
times and to assist our clients in managing the business and
not just the computer. We can grow as the number of systems
you need grows because no matter how simple or complex your
technology environment, linking all of the components together
takes finesse, planning, forethought, and management. Since
staying ahead of the curve is the nature of our business we
recognized long ago that being proactive is less expensive
(and disruptive) than being reactive. To that end, CDS has
developed the CDS Alerts System to let us know before something
breaks, and a CDS Control Log, a proactive maintenance schedule
system to keep your systems humming and reduce your incidence
of downtime.
Did we get your attention? We got the attention of the two
businessmen, who now are CDS clients.
That is our story: A complex commitment to our clients that
is perceived as a simple solution, a single point of accountability,
a single “full service technology provider.” A commitment that
allows our clients to sleep at night, comfortable in the knowledge
that our technical staff, our alert systems and our proactive
maintenance are “on the job.”
A leap ahead and a commitment
to excellence:
The
CDS Difference.
